The decorators had just closed the door.
When Granny arrived, leaving her crutches on the floor.
The Boy lifted one, to the newly decorated ceiling,
The suction at the tip stuck fast to the plaster.
The Boy in dismay pulled with all his might
It was stuck tight.
His brother helped him, the suction eased,
They fell to the floor, scraping their knees.
Looking up, to their horror, a huge hole they had made,
But through it, a starry sky, before them, was laid.
An observatory to the heavens they had discovered!
Sadly, their parents didn’t see it this way,
For the repair of the damage, the boys had to pay.
