A year to the day.
The dark pall of shame
Persistently smothers our vision.
Just before six am eleventh of July 2011
Seized weapons on rout to Syria
Stored next to a power station in Cyprus
Exploded, causing death and catastrophic destruction.
The President called for an immediate enquiry.
The finger of blame pointed to him entirely.
Others resigned, others mourned the president did neither.
A year to the day, despite his dereliction of duty,
He is President of the European community.
Also, the second highest paid leader in the twenty-seven country community.
Our electricity bills remain the highest in Europe;
Causing untold misery to thousands of people;
And promises of compensation for damaged property
Have yet to be fulfilled.
The pall of smoke that engulfed cyprus last year
Remains and the rancid odour of cover up, calls for judicial change.
