We throw away diamonds, hiding in chards of broken dreams.
Forgetting golden treasures, stacked up for all once seen.Pure endeavours, spirit of kindness, in memory and in art depicted;
Yet sacking cities, and killing in the past has always been.Today, hordes of thrown away people, daily are seen,
Bravely saving their families, from brutal regimes.The half dead goat, buried in a forgotten grave,
Services to man, his all he gave.Seems we too, are thrown away, in this selfish age,
Where little is valued, and where goodness seems discouraged.The unsung souls, giving their lives for others,
Lost gems, perish in the ashes,
Of political promises, discarded.
